TL;DR — the camera counts your reps entirely on your phone and never records or uploads anything. Your blocked-app list never leaves your device. We don't sell data, we don't run ads, and we don't track you across other apps.
who we are

the camera
RepsRoulette uses your camera to count exercise reps with on-device body-pose detection (Apple's Vision framework). All processing happens locally on your phone. No video, photos, or camera frames are ever recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. If you enable the optional tracking-debug traces in Settings, they store only joint coordinates (stick-figure points, no images) on your device, and are shared only if you export them yourself.
app blocking (Screen Time)
App blocking uses Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time framework. Apple gives us an opaque token for the apps you choose — by design we cannot see which apps you block, and this selection never leaves your device.
what we actually collect
- Account (optional). If you sign in with Apple (needed only for duels), we store a user identifier and, if you share it, your name. We use Apple's privacy-preserving sign-in; you can hide your email.
- Duels. If you challenge a friend, we store the duel's stakes, rep counts, and outcomes on our backend (Convex, hosted in the US).
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate receipts — they receive an anonymous app-user id and transaction data, never your payment details (RevenueCat privacy).
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (e.g. "a workout was completed", "a spin happened"). This is tied to an anonymous identifier, used only to improve the product, and never sold (PostHog privacy).
- Waitlist email. If you joined the waitlist on this site, we store your email to tell you about the launch. Unsubscribe anytime by replying to any email.
apple health (optional)
If you turn on Apple Health sync, RepsRoulette writes your finished workouts to Health and reads your body weight to estimate calories. Health data stays in Apple's HealthKit on your device — we never transmit it to our servers, and we never use it for marketing.
what we don't do
- No selling or renting of personal data. Ever.
- No third-party advertising or ad tracking (no IDFA use, no cross-app tracking).
- No reading your messages, contacts, photos, or browsing.
data retention & deletion
Duel and account data is kept while your account is active. Sessions expire after 90 days. To delete your account and all server-side data, email reps@pairmind.dev from the address linked to your account — we complete deletions within 30 days. Everything else (workout history, settings, stats) lives only on your device and is deleted when you delete the app.
children
RepsRoulette is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
